There is one element that always accompanies us throughout our lives and that we find very hard to let go of, the dreaded **uncertainty**. The lack of certainty in our routine, in our daily life, that **usually creates discomfort and insecurity** in our actions and in ourselves.

Our life depends on the **need for control**, on routine and on established habits. As human beings, we seek the **security** of knowing that we have everything under control, that we know what will happen the next day, and of being able to anticipate any change that comes our way.

This always accompanies us, but in the times we are living through, as a result of **Covid-19**, this feeling of uncertainty hits us harder.

*What will happen after lockdown? Will everything go back to the way it was before? Will we walk through the streets with the same confidence as before? What will change?*

These are the questions we have asked ourselves the most over these days.

## What should we learn from the current situation?

Our attitude, consciously or unconsciously, will change. The moment we are living through will always remain in our memory; these memories should be treated as **personal experience with many lessons learned**.

We have learned to **listen to ourselves a little more**, setting aside the stress of day-to-day life and **recovering activities that bring us pleasure** that we had abandoned.

Getting up in the morning and sitting on the edge of the bed, listening to ourselves and knowing whether what we do daily makes us feel good, and if not, **considering small changes to feel better** with ourselves.

Or simply doing things to keep the mind and body occupied.

We have been able to see how **everything adapted around us**, always in the best possible way, cushioning the psychological impact with videos full of humor, creating a social identity of overcoming with the chant "resistiré," **identifying ourselves as a collective**… but we have also witnessed the other side of the coin, the most painful part. Death, illness, and the powerlessness of not being able to control this situation… thus creating uncertainty within us.

### How to fight uncertainty?

-**Accepting it**. Connecting with our emotions and with ourselves. This way we will drive away the frustration of not having control over the situation.

-We are in a situation in which **there is no exact ending** and we must keep this in mind, accept it, and not anticipate.

-It is **universal**. We must think more about the whole, thereby strengthening collective identity. We are not alone in this.

-**Learning from the novelty** of day-to-day life. We had never before faced a situation like this.

-Validating good, bad, and neutral situations. **Living in the present** and the generosity of each of the situations that this reality presents to us.

-**Managing** those thoughts that instill fear and hopelessness and transforming them into **thoughts that allow us to grow** and not to act irrationally.

**Thinking about the future is the opportunity** to be faced with a range of options and possibilities **for change, for transformation, for improvement**…

**Fear will disappear.**
